Thor: Ragnarok - 20 WTF Moments

9. The Haircut

The haircut sequence in Ragnarok might give Stan Lee an opportunity to mug around a bit, but it doesn't make a great deal of sense in the film's narrative logic. There is no mention at all of Thor having any power or status attached to his hair, and nor does the Grand Master seem intent on belittling him in front of his fans (if he did, he wouldn't allow him cool armour and weaponry). So why the buzz cut?

In the comics, Thor's short hair is used to denote unworthiness, but again, in the movie there's no discussion of it at all, so it just looks like they give him a hair cut for the sake of it. Which is pretty much precisely what they do.
