Thor: Ragnarok - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
9. Surtur
Once more, it was a little unnecessary for us to see Surtur shown in the trailers, but there's nothing shown there that compromises any detail of his actual role in the film. And his book-ending appearance is a very good part of the story, particularly as he looks brilliant and fits the mythology of his threat.
It is a LITTLE upsetting that he's made to look a bit of a fool for the sake of some comedy in his first appearance, but he works as a huge powerful demonic presence far better than Dormammu did in Doctor Strange. And the comedy is very generous to Thor, so it comes with a positive caveat.
Seeing his final face-off is a great moment, and of course, Clancy Brown has been brilliantly cast as his voice. But you would have already known that.
