It's already been revealed that Thor was going to look different in Taika Waititi's forthcoming sequel, but it seems it was all under-played.

The new cover of Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Thor: Ragnarok will see a cropped God Of Thunder in brand new armour that looks significantly lighter weight than his last appearance in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Gone is the y-shaped chest-plate and the arm pieces, replaced with what appears to be a leather body piece and a single blue shoulder pad.

And according to the cover, Thor's also rocking two giant blue-bladed swords in place of Mjolnir as well as a slightly shaggier beard.

Chris Hemsworth's interview with the magazine has also been teased:

"It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning. It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character."

Kevin Feige is also clear to reiterate that point:

"I have a belief that if you’re lucky enough to get to part 3 of a franchise, it is your obligation not to fall to threequel-itis."

The cover also reveals what Cate Blanchett's Hela and Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie look like, and both seem to be wearing similarly practical light-weight battle armour. There's definitely a slight Rita Repulsa look to Hela's get-up. All-in-all, they look great, and the sooner the first trailer arrives, the better.
