Thor: Ragnarok Reviews - 12 Critical Reactions You Need To Know

1. Korg Frequently Steals The Movie

Thor Ragnarok Korg
Marvel Studios
"Waititi also puts in an appearance as Korg, a creature made out of rocks which delivers some of the funniest gags of the movie." - HeyUGuys
"Watiti himself steals the film, not so much as director, but as a voice player for supporting cast member Korg, a blue rock monster who is played as a rural stoner without a shred of self-awareness. His isn’t a deadpan commentary on the action at hand, more like a shot of schoolboy innocence placed in a situation of galaxy-crumbling significance." - Little White Lies
"A scene-stealing rock monster called Korg (mo-capped by Waititi himself, presumably on his day off)." - Time Out

Perhaps the biggest surprise coming away from the reviews is that the film is said to be stolen numerous times by supporting character Korg, who is played via performance capture by the director himself.

Considering how director cameos can so frequently end up cringe-worthy and over-indulgent, the easy consensus is that Waititi nails the role, injecting even more gonzo weirdness into the film and apparently delivering some of the more risque jokes to ever make their way into an MCU film (the Jackson Pollock Guardians joke has some competition, it seems).
