1. Bloody Lens Flare

Come on, now - just because it's a sci-fi doesn't mean that Thor: Ragnarok has to do the most fashionable and least welcome things modern sci-fis do. I will never understand why any cinematographer would consciously welcome an aesthetic quirk that literally makes seeing the image more difficult.

Lens flare is the most provocative stylistic gimmick of any sci-fi released in the modern age: it's needlessly distracting, horrible on the eye and JJ Abrams really ought to look at himself long and hard in the mirror for making it popular. The worst of it is that it will also date every single movie that employs it in a matter of years.

Now to the positives...
