2. That Creature From Jotunheim Is Back
Think back to the original Thor movie, as directed by Kenneth Branagh at a time when nobody was really sure whether or not this whole God thing would even make sense as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Remember the scene where Thor, filled with rage, takes his band of merry warriors to Jotunheim so they can slay every ice giant there and end the threat against Asgard for good? You'll probably recall that it didn't go well for a couple of reasons, one of which saw Thor and friends facing off against a terrifying ice monster thing. Cut to the climax of Thor: The Dark World, and due to an inter-dimensional disturbance, portals to other realms are opening up everywhere, one of which briefly leads Thor and bad guy Malekith to Jotunheim, where they pick up an unlikely hitchhiker. That's right: the same species of creature that chased Thor through the ice in the first movie returns here, and is taken to Earth by accident. Stick around for the post-credits scene and you'll also get to see that this poor thing doesn't get to go home: it's still in London, running around the dockyards, chasing pigeons. Aw?
