Thor: The Dark World Trailer - 5 Questions We Want Answered

4. Why Are Our Characters In London?

Screen shot 2013-04-23 at 09.47.28 The keen and dedicated amongst you probably knew that The Dark World was set to feature some sequences set in Merry Ol' London, because you already looked up where the movie was being filmed and that's the kind of high-grade nerd that you are - still, for the rest of us, briefly spotting the iconic police cars in this trailer is something of a set-based revelation (and no, "The Dark World" subtitle isn't referring to London, by the way, as amusing as that would be). Still, I can't think of any Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks having taken place in London up to this point, so it's going to be interesting to see Thor trying to stay positive beneath a veil of grey skies and occasional drizzle, whilst also trying to communicate with somebody wielding a notoriously in comprehendible Cockney accent. Seriously: who's looking forward to a potential Thor/Cockney scene? You heard it here first, people. Though the first part of the movie will likely take place in the great city (and on Earth), the rest of the movie looks to be shifting to other worlds entirely - the scope of this one, then, looks to be much, much larger than that of Thor (and the battles bigger than anything we've witnessed - though probably not as insane as the one in New York at the end of The Avengers). It also explains why the Avengers themselves won't be around to help Thor, given that he's probably not going to be on Earth much.
