Titanic: How It Should Be Re-Cast In 2021

If you were to ask anyone who the most hated movie villain from the 90s was, then you'd find a lot of them pointing to this tall glass of scumbag.

Cal Hockley is almost cartoonish in his villainy, as there seem to be no redeemable traits about him. He's abusive towards Rose, stubborn to a fault, elitist, and even tries his best to be a murderer in the latter part of the film. The man is, simply put, a despicable person, which is why he's perfect in this movie.

Catching lightning in a bottle twice with this character would require a great actor, and Adam Driver is a good pick. He could tick plenty of boxes in this part, with some of the most important being his authority, intimidation, and lack of empathy.

However, this role would also challenge the typically stoic actor, as Cal was hateable primarily thanks to his arrogance and dastardly smile. Breaking out into something more expressive wouldn't just be good for Driver; it would also make this performance memorable for audiences.
