Tom Holland's Movies Ranked Worst To Best
12. The Devil All The Time
Netflix Original Films don't have the greatest track record, but this outing directed by Antonio Campos seems to follow the lead of Extraction and start an upward trend in their quality. The Devil All The Time is, much like Pilgrimage, a difficult watch at times and features graphic violence. The reception to it has been mixed, but both Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson were singled out by critics as being the main attraction of the film.
Filled with horrible characters inhabiting a West Virginia town that's still recovering from the aftermath of the Second World War, The Devil All The Time attempts to show the depths of depravity that humanity can descend to if it will let itself. The old adage of 'the only thing necessary for Evil to triumph is for Good men to do nothing' is further extrapolated on to become 'sometimes Good men just don't show up'.
Through its generational depiction of worse and worse people, hope for humanity is gently snuffed out as history plays out in the lives of these interwoven characters. One of Tom's much darker roles and worth the effort.
