Tomb Raider Trailer Breakdown: 17 Things You Need To See

7. Father & Daughter

Tomb Raider Dominic West
Warner Bros.

Once Lara's captured by Vogel, he creepily walks over to her and touches her face as he says, "Now I see the likeness...the recklessness", all while Lara wants to know exactly what relationship Vogel had with her dead dad.

Lara can also be seen holding a family photo of her younger self and her dad in happier times, with Dominic West sporting a s***-eating grin and uncharacteristically well-groomed hairdo.

As Vogel plays up Lara's likeness to her dad, a quick flash shows Lara grabbing a trusty pick axe and attacking one of her presumed captors with it.

It'll be interesting to see how the film handles the violence tonally, given that Lara quickly becoming a merciless killing machine was one of the game's most-criticised elements.

Tomb Raider Alicia Vikander
