Tony Stark has GRAVITY for Alfonso Cuaron!

It's been four years since Children of Men reminded us exactly what smart science fiction felt like, paving the way for something of a resurgence in the genre recently thanks to the likes of Duncan Jones, J.J. Abrams, James Cameron and Neil Blomkamp. Now comes word that Alfonso Cuaron has seen what his peers have accomplished and he himself is getting ready to return to the game, announcing his eagerly awaited follow-up over the weekend. Mike Fleming at Deadline say he will direct a 3-D space opera titled Gravity for Warner Bros. this summer - with Robert Downey Jr in talks for the lead role. Gravity, an original screenplay written by his son Jonas Cuaron finds...

Downey Jr as the leader of a team posted at a remote space station. While he and a female colleague are traveling outside the space station, the other team members are decimated by debris from an exploded satellite.
Although the plot is vague, presumably that means the space station is still in tact for them to keep base, albeit stranded, hence I suppose the title Gravity? Is that right, or am I missing something? Previously Gravity was setup at Universal with Angelina Jolie attached to lead (with a sub-plot about her daughter and her desperate attempt to make it back to Earth in what would mostly be a one actress show) but WB picked it up in turn-a-round, and changed the female lead to a male part. The daughter thing is also gone, probably replaced by the female co-star character. Cuaron shoots the movie in London this summer, just in time for Downey Jr to fulfil his commitments to a Sherlock Holmes sequel which also shoots in London, but in the fall.
