2. Back to the Future
Type of time travel: Past Mode of transport: A Delorean Often described as one of the greatest films of all time Back to the Future was the first part in a trilogy that never quite managed to match up to the firstmainly because it was never designed to be a trilogy and the sequels spend far too long fixing problems instead of having fun with them. BTTF was made all the way back in 1985 and it brought the ideas of time travel to the masses, and simplified the complicated ideas into simple, visual motifs that hold the film together and keep things consistent. Much like other time travel films the basic principle is that going back in time can cause all sorts of unforeseen consequencesbut where this film differs is that BTTF never takes itself too seriously, even when people are disappearing out of existence, it remains fun and always engaging.
