https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXqNL_RQTdU The same year Jackie Chan did one of his most serious films (Crime Story), he also did one of his most comical ones (City Hunter). Based on the Japanese franchise by the same name, Chan plays a detective aboard a ship that gets taken by international terrorists a la Die Hard. During Chans early film years in the 70s, he was often labeled by promoters as the next Bruce Lee something Chan himself detested as he had worked on Bruce Lees stunt team and felt (like most others) that the man could not be replaced. Back in the day, Chan was even labeled Already a Dragon on marquees (Lees nickname was Becoming a Dragon) to showcase that Chan was not only Lees successor but also his superior. Chan decided to rectify this by having a tribute to Lee in this fight scene, where he has to take on two giants while Lees unfinished film; Game of Death, plays in the background. Taking notes on how Lee finds ways to fight an opponent twice his size he finally tries to emulate the Dragon in a tribute thats both hilarious and touching.
