2. Skyfall
Yep, call me old-fashioned but I could never complete a list of "Most Anticipated Films" for the 3.5 months ahead without mentioning the latest entry in the James Bond saga. After the lacklustre Quantum Of Solace, MGM thankfully went back to the drawing board on how to depict Daniel Craigs characters and indeed the modernised, gritty storylines, bouncing back four years on with the exciting Skyfall. This time around, the stakes are more personal than ever, as its not just the fates of Queen and Country in the hands of Agent 007- its the fate of his friend and boss M (Judi Dench) too. Dench has provided us with a subdued yet intriguing rendition of the once male character of M since GoldenEye, so it will be interesting to see how the writers have handled tapping further into her characters background and emotions when the line of fire is aimed in her direction. Javier Bardem appears to be bringing a new element of fear and darkness to the villain Raoul Silva too, and with Ralph Fiennes on board as Security Chairman Mallory as well as Craig returning to own the stage as Bond, its hard to see how things can go wrong short of another Quantum appearance. The icing on this 50th Anniversary celebratory cake? Weve just found out none other than Adele herself will be performing the theme tune, "Skyfall", which probably made the days of countless music fans across the country when it was announced earlier this week! Released on October 26th.
