6. Duncan Jones

Duncan Jones rocketed onto the movie scene with his outstanding debut feature - Moon - a Sam Rockwell starring tale of a lonely astronaut with only a Kevin Spacey voiced robot for company. The 2001 and Silent Running inspired piece has been duly lauded in all quarters and the low-budget showed just how much innovation and skill is involved in creating a picture with limited resources. With the success of the sci-fi movie, Hollywood were always going to come calling, and as he is the son of David Bowie, I'm sure he has a few connections. Next up for him was the excellent Source Code, which showed he could replicate his indie success on a large scale as the movie was a complex thrill ride which featured some excellently shot set-pieces. Things are only going to get bigger and better for Jones after the critical and financial success of Source Code and he is currently set to direct an adaptation of World of Warcraft, which, if his previous work is to go by, going to satisfy all of the fanboys.
