1. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
He's a mean one, Mr. Grinch! Jim Carrey's rendition of Dr. Seuss's green, mean, Christmas-hating machine, in Ron Howard's big budget remake of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, is absolutely awesome! Vaguely similar to Bad Santa and Silent Night, Deadly Night (excluding the bloody murders), The Grinch's is a social outcast and misunderstood creature who turns to robbery as a result of his hatred towards Whoville and their love of Christmas. After his interaction with optimistic girl Cindy Lou Who, and personal realisation of the true meaning of Christmas, The Grinch reluctantly apologises for his bad behaviour and embraces the seasonal spirit. Ironically Santa Claus, Father Christmas, St. Nicholas (or whatever you prefer to call the legendary figure) was initially dressed in green until the 1950's when he was Coca-Cola-nized! Thus making The Grinch an even more fitting top Santa Claus on film! Any Santa Clauses that you felt missed out? Do post your comment below and let us know-ho-ho!
