Although Heath Ledgers trickster turn as the Joker in Christopher Nolans The Dark Knight has rather stolen much of his thunder in recent years, its important to remember that Jack Nicholson as the Clown Prince of Crime is also a worthy opponent for the Bat. Disfigured by a fall into a vat of chemicals, gangster Jack Napier looses his mind and starts terrorising the good people of Gotham with an array of toys. Like the trio of villains in the sequel, the Joker is so great he outshines the title star (although Nicholson does have top billing in the credits), with the help of a string of quotable lines. If you havent seen it yet, wait to you get a load of him.
