Stemming from the confirmed casting of Ben Affleck as Batman, rumors began churning that Bryan Cranston, who plays the bald Breaking Bad anti-hero, had been selected to portray Superman's arch-rival, Lex Luthor, according to cosmicbooknews.com. While rumors suggested that the casting had already taken place with Cranston winning out, they also claim the official announcement would be held off to dovetail with the finale of Cranston's hit television drama. Rumors also suggested Cranston signed on to play Luthor in a blockbuster six-picture deal, similar to Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury character in Marvel's cinematic universe.
