Top 50 Euro Trash Films

49. My Nights Are More Beautiful Than Your Days (1989)

aqqss Some would call it arthouse, some would call it trash. It is one of my favourite films by one of my favourite directors - Andrzej Zulawski so I included it just because I want to bring it to a wider audience. Zulawski is the director of Possession - once a video nasty - and there is probably more chance you have watched that film. Again, some love it, some hate it. Zulawski is a director who thrives on high emotion and drama, also a tad bit of naughtiness. He demands very charged performances from his cast and My Nights are More Beautiful Than Your Days is no exception. Lucas has just invented an amazing computer language but at the same time he has learned that he has a terminal brain disease which will cause memory loss along the way. He meets Blanche who is a psychic in a weird stage show. The two embark on a passionate affair that ends inevitably in tragedy. Essential viewing for fans of French romantic drama, this film will tickle your fancy.

48. Les Valseuses (1974)

dwdde You couldn't in all honesty call this film Eurotrash. However, I was having a conversation with a French girl about French films and I said "j'aime beacoup Les valseuses" and she said snottily "Cet un film tres vulgair!" (forgive my crappy french) - so a vulgar film certainly makes it onto the list! Two aimless thugs (Gerard Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere) wander the streets getting into petty crime and harrassing women in a sexual manner. The film is funny and bold. A lot of people object to the treatment of women by the two men but I didn't find anything objectionable but some red blooded male lustiness. The most memorable scene for me was Jeanne Moreau, playing a woman just released from prison. The two guys approach her with the belief institutionalised women will be horny as they haven't had sex in a while and indeed she has a night of pleasure with them. Only to kill herself by shooting herself through the vagina the next morning. Worth it just to see my heart throb Gerard in action. Oh he's a naughty, naughty boy in this one!

47. Sadomania! (1981)

13.02.2013sadomania Ahhh! Jess Franco doing a Women in Prison film! Bound to be a masterpiece isn't it? 99% of you have squealed "Noooo!" very loudly, but Sadomania is quite reasonable fun. A woman called Olga ends up inexplicably in a women's prison during her honeymoon. It is run by the fantastic Ajita Wilson, cracking the whip at every occasion. For some prurient reason the women prisoners are all topless and wear skimpy Daisy Duke denim shorts and cowboy boots. Lesbianism a go go. This isn't a bad effort from Franco, although the presence of the amazing Ajita Wilson helps the film out a lot. An amusing diversion and a chance to ogle the bare breasted prisoners who, to be fair to them, are quite a sexy bunch.

46. Eugenie: The Story Of Her Journey into Perversion (1970)

13.02.2013eugenie Another Franco effort, the title of this movie promises such delectable sleaze but comes across as another run of the mill Franco sexploiter. Basically Eugenie has been turned over into slavery. Her new 'owners' are a rich married, depraved couple who play sex games with her. This includes a lot of nudity and some whipping as well as some light lesbianism, hard sex, inter-racial sex play and hints of incest. Franco fans usually love this kind of film. Personally, I feel like the film missed a strong lead female. Marie Liljedahl is attractive but insubstantial as Eugenie. One can only imagine what Lina Romay might have done with the role. Still a nice piece of mild perviness.
