Top 6 Fast And Furious Villains

4. Hernan Reyes - Fast Five

Hernan Reyes In the fifth film from the franchise we were introduced to Hernan Reyes, played by Joaquim de Almeida. After the train heist does not go as planned, Dom and Brian are captured and brought to the crime lord; Hernan Reyes. In one way, Reyes it quite similar to Carter Verone as both men have everything they want and that is a whole lot of money, but although Verone looks a lot more intimidating once you break down the individuals you will realize that Reyes is actually the more intimidating one, maybe not physically but because of the power, so much so that he has the police in the palm of his hand and he is untouchable. He is a ruthless drug lord posing as a legitimate business man and just like Verone he prefers to have his men do the dirty work for him, keeping his hands clean but reaping all the rewards that come along with it. He won€™t hesitate to kill anybody, he orders his men to hunt down Dom and the rest of his gang to kill them, and in the process his men also wipe out Luke Hobbs€™ team. However having the Rio police force under control just shows the power Reyes has, he is not a man to cross otherwise you feel the full force of the police or his right hand man Zizi as they show no hesitation of wiping out anyone who stands in their way. This was more of a revenge mission for Dom and Hobbs; Dom because he wanted to make sure they start a new life together with no looking back and planned on taking all of Reyes€™ money with the help of Gisele, Han, Tej and Roman whilst Hobbs wanted to avenge his murdered team and aligns himself with Dom for this one mission. With so many people after his head and his money, it shows just how powerful Reyes is because he has managed to anger so many people in such little time. I believe he is a better villain than Carter Verone because he is more powerful in general; he doesn€™t need to hide as he has the power to do whatever he pleases and everyone knows that he is the most powerful man in Rio. I also believe he is better than Johnny Tran because it was clear that Reyes is the main villain right from the beginning of Fast Five and there was a genuine feel of hatred ever since Reyes was introduced, whilst we had to wait for Tran to get into the role as the main antagonist of The Fast and the Furious and it took a lot more time in me wanting Tran dead compared to Hernan Reyes; I feel across all levels he did a better job as the main antagonist than Carter Verone and Johnny Tran.
