Toy Story 4 Review: 8 Ups & 2 Downs

5. Bo Beep Gets A Brilliant Reinvention

Toy Story 4 Bo Peep
Pixar

There was no omission in Toy Story 3 more glaring or upsetting than the absence of Bo Peep (Annie Potts), and so it's massively satisfying seeing her disappearance not only explained, but her character also being brought back into the fold with Woody.

Best of all, Bo Peep's pink garb and damsel-in-distress shtick is all gone: she's now an assertive, self-assured bada** who challenges Woody's worldview in a number of ways.

Between Annie Potts' terrific vocal performance and the strong writing, it's great to see Pixar offer up another compelling heroine for young girls. That merch is gonna fly off the shelves.
