5. The Storyline
Details are a little scarce, naturally as the only reviews that have emerged so far have been spoiler-free, and the only synopsis available leaves a lot to the imagination...
"What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror."
That's not a great deal to go on, but the listing for the soundtrack on iTunes and Amazon does hint at some more details. Judging by the title of track number 8 - "Nobody Puts Jesse In A Box" - Jesse ends up being the character who drives the narrative, but according to responses to the test footage of the feature shown at D23, it isn't she who disappears. We also know that the road trip is to Bonnie's grandmothers - which may end up being the setting for Toy Story 4, though there is another shorter feature planned for next year before that hits screens. According to
Slash Film, it is Mr Potato Head who is snatched, leaving behind an arm. Carl Weathers, who plays a new Action Man like character in the feature (more of which very soon) gave an interview with Collider, and confirmed that she ends up being the heroine of the piece, thanks to his coaching - something that Slash Film also announced. So, who is the villain? That one has to be confirmed by the feature itself.
