Transformers 4: 10 Things It Needs

1. Less Focus On Humans

A consistent complaint about the series has been how the human characters are pushed to the forefront too often, while the robots take a back-seat. Who, in all honesty, gives a toss about the human drama of these films? They provide a conduit to the insane action, and that's all they should provide; they are a means to an end, and frankly, if Michael Bay just delivered 90 minutes of robot brawls, we'd probably admire his shrewdness even if it might not make a lick of sense. We don't care about the love stories, we don't care about the sense of threat to them, because they're not developed beyond the attractive, hollow shades that they are anyway... Take away all that comedy, all that faux-drama, all the boring exposition that they have to spit out, and Michael Bay might actually have a truly great, thrilling, lean action film on his hands. If not, then he'll need all the help he can get. How else can TF4 improve on its predecessors? Let us know in the comments below.
