2. A Coherent Plot

Alright, it's quite an ask, but how about making things a little simpler this time? While complex, confusing narratives are in vogue at the moment, Sam Mendes' Skyfall made it clear that a straight-forward plot executed well can be just as if not more effective, and a director of Michael Bay's...simple pleasures might best opt for that himself. Though the ambition of the last film's space race storyline was admirable, the various technological trinkets are largely forgettable and feel like giant, oversexed MacGuffins designed to make everything seem more complex, edgy and important. It's a film about robots blowing each other to Hell - what more else do we really need? How about keeping it simple next time? A straight-forward plot with the Decepticons launching one final worldwide strike, and the Autobots having to team with NEST to take them down? Have one simple, easily-remembered device be the Decepticons' weakness, and then just focus on crafting some insane action; it doesn't have to be anymore complicated or contrived than that. People will still buy it, and it'll still make $1bn.
