Transformers 4: 10 Things It Needs

9. Ramp Up The Violence

While we'd be grasping at straws expecting Transformers to go R-rated - and to be honest, that wouldn't be keeping with the series' origins anyway - focusing more on the destructive power of the Decepticons in particular is sorely needed, given how scaled-back it has been in Bay's films so far. While we've seen individual cities be destroyed in each of the films, what about a global, large-scale invasion, where we see a bunch of worldwide cities be laid to waste in an epic montage? If there's anything Michael Bay does well, it's carnage, so if they focus less on the humans (and we'll get to that later) and more on the CGI chaos, this could make for a more rewarding fourth film. They started going in the right direction with the third film, with its epic, 45-minute-long climax, but they need to push the boat out even more next time, by giving the take-over a more worldwide, wholly relatable feel.
