Transformers 4: 10 Things It Needs

8. Smart Female Lead

Michael Bay has to this point cast two extremely attractive female leads in the Transformers films who also happen to be terrible actresses - Megan Fox and then, when we thought it couldn't get much worse, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - and there's the faint hope that this time around, he might cast someone who, you know, can actually act worth a damn. With Mark Wahlberg presumably playing the film's protagonist, we can expect that his female co-star will also be of a similar age, so that eliminates the "inexperienced young model" brand of actress that Bay is so fond of, unless he's planning on having Wahlberg's character be a cradle snatcher of some kind. So, who would be a ripe fit? We're thinking someone like Olivia Wilde, who has experience in blockbuster fare (Tron: Legacy), but has also proven herself a solid actress. A role like this would only cement her stature as a rising star.
