7. Less Supporting Characters
If there's anything Transformers has an excess of (other than inane dialogue), it's supporting characters who don't really add a whole lot to the story. While the NEST team (played most notably by Josh Duhamel and Tyrese) are kinda badass, do we really need to give them so much screen time when they're not shooting things? Similarly, the comic relief characters, chiefly John Turturro's G-man and Sam's parents - who presumably will be gone this time - are just a gigantic waste of time. How about reining things in for the fourth film, and focusing on a smaller, closer-knit collection of characters? There's even the possibility that this might give the story a more personal touch - granted, it's an outside shot - and in the very least make everything seem a bit less perfunctory. After all, what's the point even bothering with human characters otherwise (another point we'll get to later)?
