Transformers: Age Of Extinction - 10 Reasons We’re Freaking Out

5. Mark Wahlberg Is Still A Pretty Big Deal

As stated before, the new film has a better pedigree when it comes to the cast presented in the film. And while it's one thing to praise a film for using actors who've been nominated for multiple accolades and continue to provide A-list work time in and time out, it's another thing to actually cast someone who's not only talented, but also popular with the public. Michael Bay hit the jackpot after landing Mark Wahlberg as the lead of his successful franchise. Marky Mark's dramatic skills, combined with his easy going demeanour and his solid work ethic have made him into an actor that attracts a lot of different projects his way. If we're not mistaken though, this is the first franchise that's successfully gotten off the ground with his name attached. (We're still waiting for The Brazilian Job, guys.) If this short look is any indication, Wahlberg's trademark humour will be a little more subdued and his inner badass will be given more free reign to protect his family at all costs. It might not be Oscar winning material, but it's still worth more than a scrapped Optimus Prime would be if in the right hands.
