1. The Quintessons
Sunbrow ProductionsAge of Extinction certainly went in an unexpected direction when it had Lockdown telling the Autobots about their "Creators" who want Optimus back, and the movie ended with Optimus flying into space, sending a message to the Creators that he was on his way to find them. Now, Bay and Kruger appear to have deliberately left the identity of these so-called Creators ambiguous in order to keep us intrigued for the next movie, though a post-credit scene teasing their actual identities might've been a much smarter move. The clever money is unquestionably on them turning out to be the Quintessons, an all-powerful, tentacled race who built the Transformers in the cartoons and primarily enslaved the Autobots to do their bidding. In the opening minute of the film, we witness the extinction of the dinosaurs at the hand of the Creators, and briefly see an extra-terrestrial hand firing the weapon that kills them, a hand which doesn't look too dissimilar to that of the Quintessons'. Simply, if they aren't the Creators, Bay and Kruger have really, really screwed up. What's your favourite Age of Extinction easter egg? Or did you catch something we missed?
