6. The Script Is Absolute Nonsense

It's not remotely surprising that this thing has five credited screenwriters considering what an utter mish-mash of everything it is - a textbook case of the too-many-cooks problem, ensuring that almost nothing that happens throughout the movie is in any way memorable.

For starters, the story is the typical Earth-in-peril shtick we've heard so many times in these movies, while the majority of the dialogue feels like unfussy first draft material that needed a few witty polishes before shooting started.

Beyond a few memorably funny lines - like Autobot Mirage (Pete Davidson) telling protagonist Noah (Anthony Ramos), "You've been inside me!" - this is a film that could be largely understood with the sound off, so generically stock is basically everything it's trying to do narratively here.
