Indeed, the script is a hot mess and scarcely coherent, but it is also a lot of fun if you go in with the right mindset (that is, turn your brain off). This is a movie that gives zero f***s and just throws pretty much everything at the screen, from a plot involving Nazis and the Knights of the Round Table to previous actors in the series being weirdly recast in different roles, surprise cameos...and even Steve Buscemi voicing a Transformer.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of how bats*** insane this film is, even making references to people as diverse as Hitler, Stephen Hawking and C-3PO. The Anthony Hopkins stuff in particular is riotously entertaining even when the film's being borderline braindead, and if you've perhaps sunk a few drinks beforehand, there are plenty worse ways to spend your Friday night.
