Transformers: The Last Knight Review: 5 Ups & 6 Downs

4. It's Less Offensive & Cringe-Worthy Than Previous Films

What a pleasant surprise it is to report that a lot of the offensive and embarrassing material from previous films has been toned down considerably. Though the female characters still feel like an afterthought, at least a lot of the pervy, leering camerawork is done away with (in part because one of the leading ladies is 14 years old).

Also, the juvenile sexual and toilet humour from prior entries, as well as the general cringe factor, has been scaled back massively, resulting in a film that, though still unerringly dumb, might not feel quite so embarrassing to watch. The early teen crowd may be a little disappointed by that, though.
