"Wahlberg continues to show an affinity for roles that allow him to be both the only person who can save the day and the only person who’s right about everything." - The Wrap
"Mark Wahlberg has a knack for playing free-floating desolation that isn’t alienated enough to get in the way of his ripped-belly bravura." - Variety
"Wahlberg, as usual, gives it his all, although he’s already announced that he’s departing the series after this." - Hollywood Reporter

At the time, it was genuinely surprising when Mark Wahlberg replaced Shia LaBeouf for the last movie, essentially soft-rebooting the franchise yet still resulting in a ludicrous $1.1 billion worldwide box office total.

Audiences like Mark Wahlberg, and with good reason, considering he brings a laid-back everyman charm to most of his movies, and The Last Knight is reportedly no exception.

It seems that no matter the movie's many, many flaws, Wahlberg not only maintains his dignity throughout, but his hilarious incredulity at everything unfolding around him actually makes his preposterously-named Cade Yeager one of the film's bright spots.
