Triple Frontier Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
3. The Second Half Is Massively Underwhelming
Triple Frontier is very much a film of two halves, with the first half detailing the build-up to the five men robbing a South American drug lord, where - and this isn't a spoiler - things don't quite go according to plan.
The tripwire tension of that first hour sadly isn't sustained in hour two, which introduces most of the especially egregious plot and character developments, stripping much of the suspense away in the process.
Things happen and sometimes they're intermittently compelling, but given how strong the first half of the movie comparatively is, the latter half can't help but feel like a considerable comedown.
