Triple Frontier Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

2. The Disappointing Ending

No spoilers here of course, but the ending isn't great.

That's not to say that it's totally predictable, but it reaches for some dramatic irony that feels a tad forced, and Chandor clearly couldn't help himself but hint at the possibility of future movies in this universe.

There were so many potential avenues for this story to go down in its pursuit of an ending, yet the one Chandor and Boal arrived at just isn't that interesting.

The actors certainly try their damnedest to sell it, but the climax is more of a shoulder shrug than a dramatically satisfying conclusion.
