Tron Legacy: 5 Reasons Why It Didn't Suck (But 5 Improvements For Sequel)

4. More Tron/Alan Bradley

Alan Bradley Funny story: supposedly, the reason that Tron's face isn't featured in Tron Legacy all that much is that they didn't have the money to do so. All that money on a de-aged Jeff Bridges, and you can't spare some for a younger Bruce Boxleitner, which is weird considering that out of the two of them you could argue that he's the one that's aged better. Now that we might be getting a new sequel, and because of the fact that Legacy wasn't the super hit Disney was hoping for, we might be looking at a tighter budget for the next installment. Whatever the budget level may be, there was a noticeable dearth of Tron, as well as Alan Bradley in the film. (And no, Rinzler doesn't count.) For being Kevin Flynn's best friend, Alan got the short shrift story-wise for a character that should be as important as the son he helped raise. We only see snippets of how Kevin's disappearance effected him, so perhaps in the new film we can see more of how he's been dealing with the loss of his best friend. Maybe there could be a flashback sequence where we see the two of them talking about Flynn's "big discovery" the night before he disappears. Also, this would be a great time to tie in the whole matter involving Lora Bradley (nee Baines), considering the (assumed) non-canonical Tron 2.0: Killer App tells us she's dead, while the Wondercon event for the Flynn Lives viral had her showing up and embracing her husband on stage. Whichever side they come down on, those in charge of the franchise should tie up this simple loose end, while taking the opportunity to add depth to this already fan favorite character. After all, it is called Tron Legacy.
