Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2: 10 Reasons It Sucked

3. Too Many New Characters

While it doesn't feature enough of the best characters, the film is also busy introducing us to a glut of new ones who we're soon enough going to forget, because they just aren't developed at all beyond whatever their core function is (largely to fill out the numbers for the final battle). Why, for instance, bring a great actor like Lee Pace (above) into the fold to play a relatively inconsequential character who largely stands around during the final battle and doesn't even get his moment to shine? He's probably the most prominent new character, though there are loads more; it's just a pain to remember them because they all look so similar and don't have distinct, developed personalities. The prevailing feeling is that Condon made sure they were thrown in there to keep the novel's fans happy, but this is at the expense of cohesive storytelling; as many nods to the book are shoehorned in, making for an overstuffed brew we don't care much about.
