Two new International SPEED RACER trailers!
The movie looks fantastic... if you're a kid who loves candy coated animation and glossy video games. Not sure how much good it is for everyone else though.
I think since the very first day that it was announced the Wachowki's were adapting the Japanese anime cartoon Speed Racer, I've kinda known it wasn't going to be for me.
Sure I like The Matrix. I even enjoy many parts of the sequels (though I do wish they never existed). Bound is the sexiest film noir of 90's, a genre I love to bits. But this time the Wachowski's have made something that I'm not going to enjoy. I can see the appeal for kids and I can imagine being seven years old and just devouring this visual eye candy. It's the first movie I've seen that looks like a virtual reality video game and a movie all in one. But this one ain't gonna be for me, and that's about as polite as I can get.
