Uncharted Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs
3. The Totally Forgettable Villains
Though the villains are admittedly a means to an end in the Uncharted games, most of them are still relatively memorable, which certainly can't be said for the movie's two primary antagonists.
Despite the obvious appeal of Antonio Banderas playing the megalomaniacal treasure hunter Moncada, he's totally and utterly wasted in what's basically an extended cameo, amounting to a few scattered scenes and little else.
The bulk of the heavy lifting is instead done by his lackey Braddock (Tati Gabrielle), who while certainly cutting a striking figure and getting a few kick-ass moments, feels more like a prop than a character, given that we learn almost nothing about her throughout.
Both villains are gossamer-thin, and while they didn't need to be incredibly fleshed-out antagonists, it wasn't asking much to give the audience something to latch onto.
