6. Jaw Ripped Off - Mirrors
In the grand pantheon of cursed mirror movies, 2008's Mirrors absolutely had its lunch eaten by Mike Flanagan's Oculus a few years later, but you know what Oculus doesn't have? An extremely metal jaw-ripping scene.
In Mirrors, an evil force manifests as people's reflections in - you guessed it - mirrors, where any violent act it commits against itself is then inflicted upon the actual person for real.
And Angie (Amy Smart), the sister of protagonist Ben (Kiefer Sutherland), gets it worse than anyone, as while taking a bath at home, the entity manifests in a mirror and starts ripping its own jaw off.
Cut to Angie suffering the very same fate in the tub, her jaw slowly tearing off as she squirms helplessly in pain until finally dying.
Between director Alexandre Aja lingering on the slow-tearing jaw and the insane fusion of practical and digital effects, this is a brilliantly executed death scene that probably belonged in a better movie.
