17. Cold Storage

As reliable as horror continually proves itself to be at the box office, the new R-rated horror-comedy Cold Storage absolutely tanked, no matter its solid reviews and the starring presence of Stranger Things' Joe Keery and Liam Neeson.

It didn't help that the studio released it in barely 1,000 U.S. cinemas, enough that even dyed-in-the-wool horror fans might've missed its theatrical rollout altogether.

But make no mistake - Cold Storage, penned by legendary screenwriter David Koepp, is a ride well worth taking.

This gooey sci-fi horror blast centres around the release of a parasitic fungus from an abandoned military base, and while it's hardly reinventing the wheel, its grisly action, steady array of one-liners, and tight ensemble cast make it a whole load of fun.

Plus, how often do you get to see genuine British acting royalty like Vanessa Redgrave and Lesley Manville show up in a horror film?
