20 Upcoming Movies That Made INCREDIBLE Casting Choices
19. Charles Dance - The Batman Part II
The Batman Part II is unquestionably one of the most anticipated blockbusters in pre-production right now, but director Matt Reeves seemingly took a while locking down an actor to play Christopher Dent, father to Gotham City's district attorney Harvey Dent, with the younger Dent previously announced to be played by Sebastian Stan.
Reeves reportedly made offers to numerous high-profile actors such as Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgård, and Daniel Craig to play Dent Sr., all of whom are rumoured to have passed on the part.
But Charles Dance was subsequently added to the cast, seemingly to play Christopher Dent, and while it's puzzling that so much name talent ended up walking away from such a seemingly juicy role, it's also tough to begrudge Charles Dance of all folk winning the gig in the end.
Dance has such a natural gravitas and authority on-screen that there's no doubt he'll have an absolute ball with this role, and if the film follows Christopher Dent's depiction in the Batman comics, he's likely to have some intense exchanges with his screen son.
