20 Upcoming Movies That Made INCREDIBLE Casting Choices
1. Renate Reinsve - Backrooms
Backrooms, an adaptation of Kane Parsons' own sci-fi web horror series of the same name, is one of the year's most intriguing projects, and it's staggering that in addition to securing the backing of A24, the 20-year-old (!) filmmaker will be directing a cast led by the incredible Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve.
Reinsve in particular is on an outstanding run of movies right now, and in Backrooms she will play Dr. Mary Kline, a therapist who enters the titular liminal dimension in search of her missing patient (Ejiofor).
Though the part was actually originally offered to Cristin Milioti, Reinsve seems so perfectly cast from what we've seen in the marketing so far.
As the apparent audience insert character who ventures into the Backrooms with us, it sure looks like her character is going to be put through the wringer - and then some.
With Backrooms being one of Reinsve's first major Hollywood roles, we can only hope this might help establish her as a veritable industry Scream Queen.
