20 Upcoming Movies We Know NOTHING About
11. Hokum
Hokum is the new film from rising horror filmmaker Damian McCarthy, who has made quite the impact with his first two low-budget genre offerings Caveat and Oddity.
Next up he'll take quite a leap into the mainstream, as Hokum not only stars the great Adam Scott but will be distributed by one of the hottest genre-friendly outfits in operation today, Neon.
Scott will play Ohm Bauman, an author who travels to a remote part of Ireland to spread the ashes of his late parents, entirely unaware that his rented accommodation appears to be haunted.
The fact that the title itself even has multiple meanings doesn't shed much light on anything at all, though some rumours have pointed to McCarthy's latest involving witchcraft, which wouldn't exactly be a massive leap.
As familiar as the setup sounds, McCarthy is anything but a familiar filmmaker, so it's easy to believe he's going to deliver something uniquely unnerving here.
