12. Avengers: Doomsday
Even though Marvel Studios has already released four teaser trailers for Avengers: Doomsday, how much do we really know about the much-anticipated superhero sequel?
Yes, we know that the plot will involve the various factions of the Avengers teaming up to take on Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.), but beyond that and the slew of casting announcements, the finer details are totally up in the air.
What is Doom's plan? Why is he played by Robert Downey Jr? How are the superheroes all brought together? Where does it mostly take place? Who will be making inevitable surprise cameos? And of course, how does it ultimately tee up 2027's sequel Avengers: Secret Wars.
While the rumour mill is working overtime on these questions, the waters are so muddied with "information" of dubious veracity that it still feels like we know very little for definite.
The possibilities are wide open, and while there are many good reasons to be sceptical about Doomsday, in the very least it has the easy potential to shock and surprise us all.
