Valentine's For Singles: 8 Movies That Prove That Alone Is The Way To Go

8. Closer (2004)

Starred ActorsSuch As: Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman. While "Closer" may start off as a romantic drama all about love, it ends with bloody, raw nerve heartache. It begins with a random meeting begins Portman and Law literally collide into each other; he saves her from an accident and a romance like that which can only happen between two unfeasibly hot Hollywood actors immediately blossoms, without social awkwardness or self-sabotage. Fast forward a few years later, and the relationship has hit some bumps, and Law is looking for some excitement, which he finds in the comely shape of Miss Roberts. He kisses her, she discovers he has a girlfriend and yet they continue with the infidelity, because that's the type of despicably nasty movie this is. But then, thankfully it all unravels; while Portman discovers his betrayal, he discovers that Roberts is actually married, and then even more relationship dynamics based on adultery are created and everyone stops believing that such monsters could ever possibly be real. In short, this film is one big tangle of lies in which everyone sleeps with everyone and everybody cheats on everybody, while sparring with barbed, horribly nasty dialogue and looking so disinterested that they're achingly cool or something. The Movie Says It Best. "You think because you don't love us, or desire us, or even like us, you think you've won". Yes, love is a battlefield; wouldn€™t you rather live in peace? You€™re Better Off Alone. Instead of sneaking around and lying, cheating and getting even , and crying and forgiving, why not just sit in front of a movie full of beautiful people and yell at the screen?
