6. The Jaw-Dropping Visual Effects

Make no mistake, say what you will about this film's plot, but it is an absolutely stunning film from a visual perspective. Every cent of those $200 million appears on the screen, resulting in one of the most visually spectacular blockbusters ever made.

From the weird and wonderful alien creatures to the frantic space battles and otherworldly locales, it is an eye-wateringly beautiful movie, and if it doesn't land an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects, something has gone horribly wrong.

While many tentpoles, even those at this price point, serve up blurry, low-fi CGI that's clearly been rushed out the door on a deadline, it's clear that great pains have been made here to ensure that the effects only enhance the immersion rather then detract from it.

Simply, watch it on the biggest screen you can find, because it just won't be the same experience at home.
