It's been a weird summer for middling blockbuster movies making hilariously pessimistic projections for the future of humanity.

The Predator saw Traeger (Sterling K. Brown) predict that global warming would wipe out humanity in a generation or two, and here Dr. Dora Skirth (Jenny Slate) tells Eddie that due to overpopulation and climate change, Earth will be uninhabitable in a generation.

Few serious, credible scientists actually believe we're anywhere near this close to Earth becoming an unlivable climate, so for the apparently good-hearted doctor to start spouting it to Eddie like it's fact just seems incredibly odd.

Sure, you can argue that Drake's misleading his staff and feeding them false news in his pursuit of symbiotes, but even so, it's an absolutely laughable assertion that no rational human being, let alone a scientist, would actually get on-board with.
