4. Mrs. Chen

Though the role of Mrs. Chen (Peggy Lu) is a glorified cameo, she's nevertheless involved in one of the movie's most memorable - if not necessarily good - sequences.

An early scene shows her store being robbed by an armed thug (Sam Medina), and like anyone, Eddie is powerless to stop it. At the end of the film, though, the event repeats itself and, this time, Venom springs into action with his infamous "turd in the wind" line, before biting the thug's head clean off.

It's goofy as hell, but Chen's baffled reactions are gently amusing, and there's something weirdly sweet about Eddie being friends with the kindly shopkeeper around the corner. Nothing amazing, but just simple and effective.
