Venom: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

When Michelle Williams was cast as the female lead, fans were excited about what it meant for the movie's quality, because how often do you see her starring in blatant paycheck roles?

Oh.

Williams is every bit the pro you'd expect here, but much like Riz Ahmed she's saddled with a woefully generic, forgettable character who doesn't get a whole lot to do for the most part.

She's a witness to Eddie's increasing insanity, she breaks up with him, and then she very briefly does something interesting (if very, very weird) by turning into She-Venom and making out with Eddie.

Don't be surprised if, given Williams' comments about taking the role purely for a paycheck, she's mysteriously absent from the sequel. On the sheer basis of being Williams and giving an OK performance, though, she's head and shoulders above most everyone else.
